Pop star Rachel Stevens has slammed the Strictly Come Dancing judges for calling her meek and shy.

Stevens came second in the celebrity reality show for her sensual and confident dance routines with partner Vincent Simone, something she said the judges failed to see at the beginning.

The former S Club 7 star, 30, said: "I can't tell you how frustrating that was when the judges kept saying, she's shy, she's shy'. It was so hard to stand there every week and be told I had no personality."

Although keen to take part after two years out of the limelight living in Los Angeles, she admitted she struggled to come out of her shell following years in S Club being put under pressure to conform.
