An X Factor reject from north London has got her own back — by appearing in a commercial on the show.

Shannon Fisher, 19, was randomly approached by X Factor sponsor Talk Talk to sing in one of the phone company's adverts during the breaks on the ITV1 programme.

The barmaid from Hornsey was ousted from the competition after singing for producers so she did not get to sing for Simon Cowell and the other X Factor judges. But she appears singing The Final Countdown with her colleagues from Belushi's, a bar in Covent Garden.

"It's quite funny because it was completely by chance that we got involved," she said. "There were five of us and I had to convince two of our chefs to take part."

Miss Fisher, whose mother Dee used to be a professional singer and was managed by X Factor judge Louis Walsh, plans to re-audition next year with her 17-year-old sister Robin.
