Rihanna has revealed she wants to make contact with former lover Chris Brown.

Split: Rihanna and Chris Brown have had a turbulent year

Brown is banned from speaking to to the pop star following his sentence for assaulting her in February but Rihanna has faith that he won't hurt her again.

She said in a magazine interview: "I can't see myself never speaking to him again. There's emotion there. I think it's possible to change."

The Umbrella singer also said she feels "embarrassed" for having fallen for Brown.

She said: "It's embarrassing that I fell in love with that person.

"He was my first big love and the more in love we became, the more dangerous we became for one another."

Even after the attack, there was a brief spell when the couple got back together but Rihanna now admits this was a mistake.

She added that she got back together with him because "love doesn't go away easily."

Their romance came to an end months ago but it seems Rihanna still has a soft spot for Brown.
