Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster arrived with their six-year-old son Alastair last night for the royal premiere of Hugo at the Odeon Leicester Square, attended by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.

The 14-year-old stars of the 3D movie, Chloë Moretz and Asa Butterfield, who play Isabelle and Hugo, were also at the showing of the 3D movie.

Director Martin Scorsese's first family film, based on Brian Selznick's novel The Invention Of Hugo Cabret, is about an orphan living in a Paris rail station.
