Tom Cruise has a secret weapon: A wife who doubles as a style icon with the power to stop him from making any major fashion faux-pas.

The 45-year-old actor and Katie Holmes looked like twins in their matching black suits when they were spotted leaving Joans on Third restaurant in Los Angeles this weekend.

Both wearing oversized sunglasses and pensive faces, Cruise appears to be taking style tips from his fashion-savvy wife.

The mother-of-one has recently transformed from frumpy to fabulous which saw her back to her svelte pre-pregnancy weight just five months after the birth of her daughter Suri, 20 months.

Holmes, 29, has since returned to the silver screen with the release of her first film post-baby.

Katie stars in "Mad Money" a female heist film with former Woody Allen stalwart Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah as Holmes' fellow robbers.
