Sarah Michelle Gellar launches Harrods sale for 'serious shopping'

Sarah Michelle Gellar dressed up in a hot-pant suit and killer heels to launch the Harrods summer sale today.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress arrived at London's Knightsbridge store in a horse-drawn carriage.

She posed for photographers with Harrods' boss Mohamed Al Fayed before getting a tour of the discounted goods.

She told bargain hunters waiting to get inside: "I've had a sneak peek and I can tell you there is some serious shopping to be done.

"I hope you won't mind if I beat you to it."

Bags and shoes are expected to be popular today with some dedicated shoppers queuing since 6.30am for discounted Gucci handbags, a Harrods spokesman said.

Meanwhile anti-fur protesters staged a demo outside the London store.

They waved banners calling on Harrods to "stop selling fur", while one protester dressed up in a fox costume.
