Schiffer horrified at raid on home

Claudia Schiffer has been traumatised by burglars who raided her Notting Hill home as she and her children slept upstairs.

A camera storing irreplaceable family photographs was among items stolen during the break-in which has left the supermodel "badly shaken".

Cash and thousands of pounds worth of electrical goods, including a laptop computer and mobile phone, were taken from the 35-year-old's £6 million house.

The model is married to Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels producer Matthew Vaughn, 35. A friend says Schiffer is "horrified" that the crime took place as the couple's children - Caspar, two, and one-year-old Clementine - slept upstairs.

"She's horrified at the thought that someone broke into their house and was creeping around while they were asleep in their beds," the friend told one newspaper-The couple's black four-by-four vehicle was parked outside their home yesterday but there was no answer at the door. They moved into the house earlier this year and also have a home in Suffolk and a villa in Majorca.

Thieves have targeted a string of other celebrities, including Geri Halliwell and Elle Macpherson, in the area.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Kensington and Chelsea Burglary Squad are investigating a burglary that was discovered on the morning of 12 December in Notting Hill.

"The homeowner reported the burglary as soon as it was discovered and officers attended."

He added: "Items including electrical equipment and a quantity of cash were reported stolen."
