Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney looked positively worn out following his performance at an intimate London gig.

The sixty-five year old looked as if he had given his all to the crowd of 300 who turned up to hear the legendary singer played a medley of Beatles and Wings classics at the arts venue as part of their month long music festival.

Time for a holiday: Paul McCartney looks worn out after a show at London's Institute for Contemporary Arts

Dressed in his trademark black suit which seemed to swamp his much reduced frame, with a white shirt and a louchely hanging tie, McCartney looked a spent force, and was no doubt looking forward to a comfortable ride home in his waiting car.

Following a year noted for his constant warring with estranged wife Heather Mills during their bitter as yet unresolved divorce, the disharmony in his private life has clearly taken its toll on his once boyish appearance.

Sir Paul looks more youthful under the onstage lights

Earlier onstage Sir Paul looked energetic, and played five tracks off his latest solo album 'Memory Almost Full' before treating the crowd to the likes of Beatles classics 'Hey Jude' and 'Get Back' along with Wings hit 'Jet'.

But once offstage, he looked a shadow of his onstage self. Could it be time for the old rocker to hang up his guitar and take it a bit easier?

Sir Paul was reunited earlier this month with Beatle Ringo Starr, and the wives of deceased Beatles George Harrison and John Lennon, Olivia Harrison and Yoko Ono at a ceremony in Las Vegas.

The quartet then made history by appearing together on talk show Larry King, in what's reported to be the only time the two surviving Beatles and the deceased Beatles wives have agreed to be interviewed together.

Having recently celebrated his landmark 65th birthday with a party attended by Kate Moss and Tracy Emin among others, maybe Sir Paul it might be time to treat yourself to a nice long holiday.
