Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Vito Coppola appears to have confirmed that he is in a relationship with Ellie Leach by referring to her as “my baby” in a social media post.

Taking to Instagram Stories on Wednesday, the Italian dancer uploaded a moody black and white Instagram shot of himself after rehearsing for this week’s show with former Coronation Street star Leach, who he is partnered with on the BBC dance competition.

“Just finished another day of rehearsal. Well done to my baby Ellie Leach,” he wrote in the accompanying caption.

It comes after their ex-Strictly co-star Amanda Abbington, 51, first set tongues wagging by calling them the “most beautiful couple” on social media while saying she was “so proud” of their performance.

Leach, who split from boyfriend of five years, Reagan Pettman, in May after he cheated on her, descried her latest dance with Coppola as a “magical night” as viewers continue to comment on their chemistry.

After signing up for Strictly, Leach said that she hoped the experience would help her build up her experience and that Coppola has been instrumental in that.

Speaking in October, she said: “Being cheated on was upsetting, but now’s the perfect time to put my all into Strictly and give that 500 per cent.

“Self-confidence is something I’ve always struggled with. As an actor, people don’t see that – they think you’re this confident person and you can do anything. I’m hoping Strictly will bring that for me, push me and make me realise I’m capable of things,” she continued.

“Vito has taught me so much already. He tells me, ‘It’s a competition with yourself. If you’re tired, fight it, if you’re stressed, fight it.’ I also don’t praise myself enough, I just focus on the wrong. But then he’ll say to me, ‘Yeah, but you just did that…’”
