Boxing Clever's impressive selection of pugilistic prints offer an insight into boxing history during the past 100 years. Alongside iconic images of all time greats Will Smith... oops sorry, Muhammad Ali and Rocky Marciano, is the fascinating vintage photography collection of Victor Berlemont.

Owner of the French House in Soho - one of the ports of call for boxers from around the world who visited London from the Twenties to the Forties - Berlemont attended fights on both sides of the Channel, offered advice and hospitality and helped to arrange fights, making introductions between managers and their proteges.

As a way of thanks a signed original photograph would be handed over, adding to Berlemont's collection of the rare and original prints featuring female boxers, boxing techniques and set-up scenes.

Highly collectable and so far unpublished, Boxing Clever shows the sportsmanship and artform at its best in the days when the action took place in the ring not in some staged pre-bout press conference where the likes of Tyson take the concept of the knuckle sandwich too literally by chowing down on an opponent's leg.

Boxing Clever, from Fri 15 Mar, Michael Hoppen Gallery, 3 Jubilee Place, SW3 (020-7352 3649)
