As they stepped out for lunch today the Two Ronnies - Wood and O'Sullivan - didn't seem to have much to smile about.

Unlike their comedy namesakes they appeared glum and quiet as they left the London restaurant Scott's. Perhaps they had some serious things to discuss.

Wood, 61, has reportedly split from Jo, his wife of 23 years. And the troubled Rolling Stone has just completed six weeks of rehab  for reported drink and drug addiction.

O'Sullivan, 32, has dealt with similar demons having spent time at the Priory, and previously offered to help Paul Gascoigne when he was going through a tough time.

He told reporters: 'I can't give Gazza advice. But I can say to him: "If you want to, come round my house, put your feet up and have a cup of tea." Since getting healthy I've wanted to help people about these things.

'That's something I am passionate about. I'm always happy to share whatever worked for me. It's sad what's happened to him. I don't feel stressed now, but I have been as low as I can go.'

Perhaps Wood has now been the recipient of some well-intended advice from his fellow Ronnie.
