Vanessa Feltz has shared an update following her first experience of dating since having her heart broken earlier this year.

The This Morning agony aunt and veteran broadcaster, 61, had her world turned upside down when she split with partner of 16 years Ben Ofoedu, after discovering he had cheated on her with multiple women.

Last Friday, she revealed that she was nervously heading out on her first date after signing up for the next series of E4 show Celebs Go Dating.

Reflecting on how it went, the London-born star admitted she found it “absolutely terrifying”.

“I could hardly breathe, in fact, I still can’t… It’s a big old deal, really nervous,” she told The Mirror while attending the TRIC Awards on Tuesday evening.

Adding: “It was like, ‘What just happened?!’ I think I will get more into it as the weeks go by because it’s only the beginning now, we’ve got lots and lots more filming to do.”

Feltz looked radiant in a long aquamarine gown as she hit the red carpet of the annual awards bash in London.

Asked whether she felt that she had now got closure on the situation with her ex partner, she replied that she still had some work to do.

“I think I’ve got a bit of a way before I get any closure. I don’t know about closure but it’s definitely a distraction. A good old distraction,” she told the publication.
