At first glance, it looks like Tracey Emin may have been the victim of artistic differences as she sports a black eye given to her by fellow YBA Sue Webster.

But Emin, 46, revealed she got the shiner by accident when a play fight with close friend Webster, 43, got out of hand.

We’re pals, honestly: Tracey Emin, hugging fellow Young British Artist Sue Webster at a Mayfair party, sported a shiner that had guests wondering who threw the punch

There were obviously no hard feelings last night as the artists hugged at a 50th birthday party held by photographer and socialite Amanda Eliasch in Mayfair.

A source said: "They had been out together the night before and they'd had a couple of drinks.

"They were in the back of a cab together at the end of the evening and having a play fight, when Sue accidentally caught Tracey with a stray punch.

"It was laughed off at the time and neither expected it to leave quite such a bad mark. But it was a great source of amusement for everyone last night and the pair took it in very good spirits."
