As her fondness for cosmetic surgery shows, Anne Robinson always likes to look her best for the camera.

So her horror can only be imagined when she popped out to the newsagent's in an old grey tracksuit, without make-up, only to find a photographer waiting for her as she came out of the shop.

Oops - Anne Robinson spots the snapper outside the shop and emerges several minutes later in cap and coat brought down by her assistant

Miss Robinson dived back inside and called her personal assistant on her mobile phone. Moments later, the assistant arrived carrying a coat, baseball cap and oversized sunglasses.

And duly covered up, the 63-year-old Weakest Link inquisitor emerged to walk back to her West London home with a smirk of triumph.

Perhaps Miss Robinson is becoming more wary of photographers following her experience of a week ago, when pictures were published which appeared to show that she had just had further work on her looks following her facelift of 2004.

Then her lips certainly appeared to be less plump. Yet on closer inspection, it appeared that the make-up artists on set had been hard at work.

The plumpness of both top and bottom lips appeared to have been reduced using skin-tone make-up to make the darker area of the lip appear smaller.
