Why Mick, 64, is looking down in the mouth
Ever since the Rolling Stones shot to fame more than 40 years ago, their trademark has been Mick Jagger's child-bearing lips.
But as he celebrated his 64th birthday yesterday, it became apparent that time is finally taking its toll on that extravagant pout.
The Jagger mouth, caricatured in the band's logo, is a mere shadow of its former self.

Since he is photographed so often, the gradual change has been almost imperceptible. There is, however, a dramatic contrast between the young Jagger's lips and the version pictured on stage with the band in Warsaw this week.
So deflated have they become that he is having to accentuate what remains with pink lipstick.

Such deflation - or atrophy - of the lips is inevitable with age. Indeed, the obsession of many ageing women - and increasingly men - to have collagen injections to create that bee-sting look is because we associate plumper lips with youthfulness.
It is of course admirable that Old Rubber Lips, as he is still nicknamed, should choose to grow old gracefully and not succumb to such vanities.
His daughter Elizabeth, who earns £3million a year as a model, recently told the Mail that her father would never resort to cosmetic surgery.
She added: 'He might have one of the craggiest faces in the world but it's all his own and it makes him so recognisable.
'I am very proud of him and his face. He will never have plastic surgery and nor should he because facelifts on men are just yuk.'
