Agassi off to Queen's

Andre Agassi, who pleaded for more matches after losing in the first round of the French Open, has been given a wild card into the Stella Artois championships at Queen's starting on 7 June.

Agassi has unhappy memories of the tournament having to withdraw on his last visit in 2000 after falling heavily on the wet grass.

Fellow American Jennifer Capriati was on form today as she brushed aside Kveta Peschke 7-5, 6-3 in the second round at Roland Garros.

Capriati needed a timely break at 4-5 to avoid losing the opening set to the Czech qualifier.

But the American dominated the second set and wrapped up victory after 73 minutes on centre court when Peschke netted a backhand volley having saved two match points.

She will next play either Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany or Australia's Samantha Stosur.
