Allen so proud of his fighters

Martin Allen today praised his Brentford players for "giving total commitment to the club" following an exhausting Easter programme in which they won four points.

His side's hard-fought 3-2 victory over Colchester yesterday has taken them two points clear of the relegation zone.

Manager Allen said: "It may not have been like watching Brazil in 1970 but the players tried as hard as they could.

"It makes me proud because they've given total commitment to the club. There are no whingers, no big-time charlies."
