Bellamy's hoping to make mark

13 April 2012

Wales cannot have a prouder patriot to lead their team against Germany tonight than Craig Bellamy.

The West Ham striker (left) may have his critics but he now wears his heart under his sleeve. Bellamy has a tattoo on his right arm of Owain Glyndwr, the last native prince of Wales, who enjoyed victory over the English in 1402.

"Owain Glyndwr is the biggest Welsh hero there has been," said Bellamy. "I am massive on him."

Whether Bellamy can call on the past to inspire his team to victory in Moenchengladbach is another matter. "This is a huge task," he said.
