Betting guide: Everton v Liverpool

Fernando Torres: may not start against Everton
James Goldman13 April 2012

We've not seen shots of Liverpool on our screens this regularly since Brookside was in its pomp.

Sadly, January's two Merseyside derbies' failed to produce anything nearly as entertaining as lesbian kisses, bodies under the patio or Waco cult sieges.

A change of scenery, tonight's FA Cup replay is at Goodison Park rather than Anfield, could provide a more entertaining encounter, but don't bank on it.

The build-up has been dominated by Robbie Keane's departure from Liverpool, while Jo's move to Everton has slipped under the radar, but the outcome of tonight's scouse shindig will most likely depend on Rafael Benitez's selection.

Second guessing the Spaniard is a hazardous occupation, but having clawed their way back into the title frame after Sunday's much needed win over Chelsea, it is unlikely that Fernando Torres' hamstring will be risked from the start.

With that in mind Everton, whose hopes of qualifying for Europe via the league look ever more remote, have the greater need but it might take extra time to separate these local rivals.

Recommended bet: Draw, 23-10
