Bluebirds help Bellamy

12 April 2012

Cardiff have come to Craig Bellamy's aid to help him keep fit despite spending two days this week in court answering an assault charge.

The Wales international has been given a personal training programme by Liverpool while he is in his home city standing trial. And Cardiff have offered the use of their training facilities to Bellamy, who is expected to be back at Anfield on Saturday to figure in the home game with Manchester City before returning to south Wales next week for the final two days of the trial.

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez revealed: "We have given him a training programme while he is away and we have been helped by Cardiff City who have let him use their facilities. Physically Craig will be ready, and mentally also because he wants to play. It is sometimes a good thing in such circumstances to play and think about other things."
