The Northern Ireland international has made a huge impact in Glasgow after arriving on loan from relegation-threatened Fulham at the end of January and is loving life at Ibrox.

But now Boro and another Premiership club have been alerted to his performances and are ready to join a summer transfer scramble if Fulham are relegated.

The London outfit paid Aston Villa in excess of £3.5million last summer to buy Davis and would want a similar sum for the 23-year-old come the end of the season.

It is believed the Davis move from Fulham to Ibrox was initially tied in with the Daniel Cousin transfer south, but that £3m deal may never happen if Roy Hodgson's side drop out of the Premiership.

Davis, 23, is only focusing on Rangers for the moment after already claiming his first trophy when he scored a nerveless penalty in the CIS Cup Final shoot-out against Dundee United at Hampden.

Davis is set to face Georgia at Windsor Park tonight for Nigel Worthington's Northern Ireland side, with Premiership scouts liable to descend on Belfast to check on Burnley's highly-rated Kyle Lafferty.
