Daniel Dubois has been hailed the ‘future of heavyweight boxing’ after a knockout victory over Nathan Gorman that could leave him on a collision course with fellow Brit Joe Joyce.
The 21-year-old extended his professional record to 12-0 with a fifth round knockout victory over Gorman, a previously undefeated heavyweight who many believed would give Dubois the toughest fight of his professional career to date.
That victory saw him crowned the new British champion with his promoter Frank Warren confident the Greenwich fighter will soon be recognised at world level.
“Daniel was very composed in the fight, and we saw Nathan has no quit in him”,” Warren told BT Sport.

“These are the two youngest fighters to fight for the British title. The key for me in this fight was the jab. And Daniel showed that. It was superb. I’ve said it all along, I think Daniel is the future of heavyweight boxing.”
On the undercard, Joyce made it 10 wins from 10 after being forced to go the distance for the first time in his career against former world title challenger Bryant Jennings.
Having signed for Frank Warren earlier this year, a meeting between the two undefeated Londoners seems inevitable.
