Welterweight world champion Errol Spence Jr has been released from hospital and been charged with drink-driving following a serious car crash last week.

The reigning IBF and WBC champion was thrown from his Ferrari after driving at high speed in Dallas last Thursday but miraculously escaped without suffering a single broken bone and is expected to make a full recovery.

Stunning CCTV footage showed Spence, regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet, losing control of his white Ferrari which flipped through the air multiple times.

Spence has been discharged from hospital but Dallas police have now charged the 29-year-old with driving while intoxicated, a class B misdemeanour.

Spence posted his first words since the crash on Instagram on Wednesday, writing: "No broken bones, I'm a savage!!"

The message has since been deleted.
