Brough on form in Hull defeat

Scrum-half Danny Brough piled the pressure on under-fire Hull coach Richard Agar by setting up three of Huddersfield's four tries as they recorded a 20-10 victory.

Brough, who also landed two conversions, kicked through for David Hodgson and Kevin Brown and also supplied the final pass for Hodgson's second try.

The Giants were nearly embarrassed as they let a 10-0 lead slip, but Hull's impressive fightback was not enough to stop some of their disgruntled fans from brandishing 'Agar out' banners at the final hooter.

Catalan Dragons opened their account for the season as an impressive second-half performance saw them beat Hull KR 31-18 at Craven Park.

With the sides level at the break 12-12, Trent Robinson's side dominated the second period to score four tries and send the home side to their second successive defeat.

Blake Green opened the scoring with two tries in the first 15 minutes for Rovers with Shaun Briscoe adding his own in the second half. But Damien Blanch got a brace in reply with Gregory Mounis, Setaimata Sa, Sebastien Raguin, and Steve Menzies also crossing over for the Dragons.

Salford City Reds broke their Super League points duck with a 32-6 victory at Wakefield but will have to improve if they are to make an impression on the top eight play-off places.

The same is true of the Trinity Wildcats after boggy conditions made for an error-riddled game which lacked sparkle the longer it went on. Rain in the lead-up to the game and a deluge just before kick-off made the usually immaculate Belle Vue playing surface a bit of a mess.

The conditions were initially no problem for Salford - especially hooker Matty Smith, who darted away from dummy half to send stand-off Stefan Ratchford over after only 43 seconds. Daniel Holdsworth converted.
