England international lock Alex Brown has agreed a new two-year contract with Aviva Premiership club Gloucester.

Brown, 31, revealed he had received some "cracking offers" from elsewhere, but his new deal will extend his stay at Gloucester to 10 years after he joined them from Bristol.

He passed 200 Premiership appearances this season, and remains a key part of the Gloucester squad under head coach Bryan Redpath.

Brown said: "I did have some cracking offers from elsewhere, but even though I live in Bristol, Gloucester has become home for me.

"When I look back on my career in years to come, having played 10 years at Gloucester will be something special to reflect upon. And, hopefully if things go alright, I can go on beyond that."
