Chelsea handed home advantage yet again in FA Cup fifth round

Favourable draw: Mikel John Obi in action against Macclesfield who were Chelsea's third round opponents
14 April 2012

Chelsea were handed a kind home draw in the last 16 of the FA Cup, against either Blackpool or Norwich.

Jose Mourinho's side, who knocked out Nottingham Forest in the fourth round, will face lower-league opposition again having beaten Macclesfield 6-1 in round three.

Manchester United are also at home, to Reading - while Arsenal or Bolton will replay for the right to host Blackburn.

Fulham will host Tottenham in an all-Barclays Premiership capital clash, while Bristol City - who came from two goals down to force a replay against Middlesbrough - will be at home to West Brom in the fifth round if they can muster a win at the Riverside.

There is a potentially tricky tie on the cards for Manchester City, who must make the short trip to Deepdale to face Preston.

Watford are at home to Ipswich - while one Coca-Cola Championship side is guaranteed to reach the last eight, after Plymouth were drawn at home to Derby.

Preston boss Paul Simpson, whose side overcame Championship rivals Crystal Palace in the last round, was relishing a tie against one of his old clubs.

He said: "It's a fantastic draw for us, I have wonderful memories of my time at Man City and we hope we'll get a full house at Deepdale for it. It's a great day to look forward to.

"It will be a very tough game. I went to watch them in the (third-round) replay against Sheffield Wednesday and they're a good side.

"To be at home gives us a really good opportunity, if we carry on with our home form, to continue to the next round."
