Coltart takes route 66

13 April 2012

Ryder Cup hopeful Andrew Coltart roared to the top of the firstround leaderboard in the Dutch Open at Noordwijkse today with a superb five-under-par 66.

Coltart, 10th in the Ryder Cup table, turned in 32 after an eagle at the 11th and birdie at 18.

He started back with a birdie at the first, but hit trouble with a seven at the par-5 second.

He recovered well, though, and birdies at three, six and nine gave the Scot a one shot lead over a pack of six.

Two back after posting 68s are World No2 Ernie Els, Darren Clarke and Bernhard Langer, who all finished third at The Open last week.
