Eoin Morgan will sit out England's fourth ODI against Pakistan at Trent Bridge on Friday after he was banned for one match for England’s dismal over-rate on Tuesday.

England took four hours to bowl their 50 overs and as it was their second offence this year Morgan was banned by the ICC on Wednesday morning.

He was also fined 40 per cent of his match fee, with his players fined 20 per cent.

England planned to rest Morgan in one of the final two matches anyway and Jos Buttler will captain in his place.

The hosts lead the five-match series 2-0 after Jonny Bairstow notched a brilliant century in an emphatic six-wicket win in Bristol.

Buttler struck a rapid 50-ball ton in a 12-run victory at the Ageas Bowl on Saturday after the first ODI was abandoned after only 19 overs due to persistent rain at The Oval.
