We must finish India off in style, says Swann

Catching on: Graeme Swann today

Graeme Swann has challenged England to complete one of their most successful summers in recent history by recording a clean sweep of victories over India.

Having wrapped up a 4-0 whitewash in the Test series, England then won the only Twenty20 clash between the sides and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match one-day series with their seven-wicket triumph at the Rose Bowl on Tuesday.

The only match that the home side have failed to win was the first one-day international at Chester-le-Street, where rain meant no result was possible.

India have lost eight players to injury at various stages of the tour but Swann still believes it would represent a great achievement to win every match possible. They need three more victories to achieve it, starting with tomorrow's ODI at The Oval.

"I would hope we could do it, because we have played some unbelievable cricket this summer and you don't want the one-day series to be a damp squib at the end," said Swann. "That was what happened in 2009, when Australia won the one-day series 6-1. We must carry on the momentum."

Jonathan Trott is set to return tomorrow after missing out at the Rose Bowl, while Eoin Morgan is due to see a specialist later this week to assess whether he needs shoulder surgery.

Meanwhile, England today finalised their plans for the two-month tour of Dubai and Abu Dhabi where they will take on Pakistan in Test and limited-overs matches.

They arrive in Dubai on January 3 and have two warm-up matches before the First Test starts two weeks later. The Second Test begins on January 25 in Abu Dhabi, with the Third in Dubai from February 3. There are then four one-dayers and three T20 matches, with the final T20 on February 27.
