Demetriou agrees Wildcats extension

Wakefield captain Jason Demetriou, whose future was clouded earlier this year by a career-threatening neck injury, has agreed a two-year contract extension with the Wildcats.

The 32-year-old former Widnes three-quarter has committed his future to the Wildcats until the end of the 2010 season.

"I'm very pleased Jason has agreed the deal," said Wakefield coach John Kear. "It further cements the squad's stability for the next couple of years."

He added: "Jason is a very important member of our leadership team and an integral part of our quest for success."
