Derby doubt for Cooke

12 April 2012

Hull KR stand-off Paul Cooke could miss next week's derby against his former club Hull FC.

Cooke suffered a hamstring injury in Rovers' 24-14 engage Super League defeat at Leeds on Friday night and will be assessed in the coming days.

Utility player Daniel Fitzhenry is also doubtful for the short trip to the KC Stadium next Saturday due to a knee problem.

Coach Justin Morgan said: "They are the two that'd be doubtful but we've got a long turnaround."

Two other former Hull players in the Rovers camp, Shaun Briscoe and Scott Wheeldon, are expected to be fit for next week.

Full-back Briscoe missed the Leeds game due to a shoulder injury, while a gash sustained by forward Wheeldon against the Rhinos is not serious.

Rovers will be looking for their seventh win from 10 derbies to keep their play-off bid on track.

Morgan's men are still fourth in the table despite losing five of their last seven games.

Morgan said: "We've got a pretty big game next week, a massive game for the club.

"A few coaches have mentioned this month is one of consolidation, you can really establish yourself in the table. Our objective now is to make sure we stay in the top four."
