Donk set for West Brom switch

12 April 2012

West Brom manager Tony Mowbray is set to strengthen his defensive options after AZ Alkmaar confirmed they have agreed to loan Ryan Donk to the Barclays Premier League side for the rest of the season.

Alkmaar reported on their website, www.az.nl, that the 22-year-old centre-back will swap the Eredivisie for the Premier League, just as Gianni Zuiverloon and Jonas Olsson have already done in signing for the Baggies this summer.

Holland Under-21 international Donk began his career with RKC Waalwijk before he made the switch to Alkmaar in 2006 and will become Mowbray's 11th summer signing.
