Dougherty not put off by freak injury

Nick Dougherty is confident he will be fit to play in this week's Dubai Desert Classic despite suffering a freak wrist injury.

The Englishman was treated by a doctor this morning after slipping and falling heavily on his right hand.

"It's just one of those freakish things. In trying to break my fall I hurt my wrist," said the golfer.

"The good thing is I've still got two days to the start of the tournament."
