Eaton's fan power

13 April 2012

Chris Eaton is out to prove he is more than a "oneday wonder" when he takes on Ukraine's Sergiy Stakhovsky on his Great Britain Davis Cup debut today.

Eaton became the lowest-ranked man to reach the second round of Wimbledon last year when, at No661 in the world, he beat Serbia's Boris Pashanski, who was more than 500 places higher in the standings.

The 21-year-old now faces Ukraine No1 Stakhovsky in Glasgow hoping the home fans can will him on to another memorable victory.

"If it's a big point and I win it, I'm going to get excited and I know the crowd will respond to that," said the world No383. "If you're playing well and you're hitting some good shots, the crowd will enjoy it."
