Ferdinand fit for Bolton clash

12 April 2012

Rio Ferdinand has been cleared to play in Manchester United's Premiership clash with Bolton on Saturday.

Sir Alex Ferguson rejected reports Ferdinand is suffering from a cracked rib and, although the England defender has only returned to training on Friday, he will be available for the encounter with Sam Allardyce's men.

The Premiership leaders do have injury problems though, as Louis Saha (ankle), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (knee) Darren Fletcher (ankle), Mikael Silvestre (shoulder) and Edwin van der Sar (calf) are all out and with Henrik Larsson now back in Sweden, Ryan Giggs is likely to play up front alongside Wayne Rooney. Paul Scholes is suspended.
