A pizza the action! Iconic moments from World Cup history depicted on dough

Food artists have teamed up with Pizza Express to celebrate iconic moments from World Cup history.

From Maradona's infamous 'Hand of God' goal against England in 1986 to Zinedine Zidane's headbutt on Marco Materazzi which hastened the end of his international career in the 2006 final, the restaurant chain have been gripped with World Cup fever.

It took Pam Staite and Serena Reeve 20 hours to make the edible art, each one using ingredients from PizzaExpress’ menu.

This includes garlic to represent Gazza’s tears, and 50 pieces of pepperoni forthe crowd behind Maradona as he scores his ‘Hand of God’ goal - with olive shorts on. Tasty.
