Abou Diaby is in talks to join Major League Soccer side FC Dallas.

The 29-year-old was released by Arsenal last week after making just 124 appearances in his nine years at the club during an injury-ravaged career.

Manager Arsene Wenger had hoped Diaby would prove his body capable of coping with the rigours of regular top-flight football and indicated to the France midfielder that he would be allowed to use the Gunners’ London Colney training base during the summer while he searched for a new club.

Diaby is desperate to prove he can still play regular football and is thought to be open to a move to the States. He regularly visited Dallas during his rehabilitation from various injuries.
