Chelsea have received another boost in their hopes to sign Alex Teixeira after the Brazilian admitted he wants to leave Shakhtar Donetsk to improve his chances of getting a call-up for the national team.

The Blues have been keen on the attacking midfielder, who has scored 26 goals in as many matches, for several months.

Shakhtar are demanding £30 million for his signature and Chelsea are increasingly confident they will get their man either this month or in the summer.

Teixeira has yet to earn a cap with Brazil and remains excited about the possibility of joining Chelsea.

He said: "I want to be part of the Brazilian National Team, so I may have to switch clubs.

"Chelsea? I'm very happy that they're interested. On my part, I do everything to continue improving."
