Andy Scott still targets Wembley after ‘horrific’ performance

Ian Gibb11 April 2012

Brentford manager Andy Scott was disappointed with the "terrible" quality of his team's Johnstone's Paints Trophy goalless draw with Leyton Orient last night.

The only positive for Scott was Carling Cup hero Richard Lee's crucial penalty shoot-out save.

Reserve keeper Lee who wants talks over his future once Brentford's cup runs are over, flung himself to his right to keep out Matthew Spring's penalty and send his team through 5-4.

Scott said: "That was the most horrific game I have been involved in. The quality was terrible.
It was a very poor game. We are fortunate to go through. I want the players to enjoy it but they won't enjoy it chasing the ball."

And after making it through to the third round, Scott is targeting a place at Wembley. He said: "There are only four chances to get to Wembley. We won't in the Carling Cup or FA Cup, which leaves the play-offs and the JPT."
