It was announced last month that 'selfie sticks' are banned at Emirates Stadium, but that hasn't stopped some fans smuggling them in unnoticed.

There was a huge spike in sales of the product over the Christmas period and many were seen across Premier League grounds during a packed festive fixture list during the end of last year.

But many clubs moved fast to prohibit the accessory from matchdays. While the Gunners confirmed 'selfie sticks' could be brought along to stadium tours, a club spokesman said they would compromise public safety on matchday.

“We can confirm that 'selfie sticks' are banned on matchdays at Emirates Stadium," a club spokesman told the New Journal earlier in the year.

"The club's ground regulations prohibit any object that could be used as a weapon or could compromise public safety."
