Arsenal are weighing up a move for Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov.

It is understood that no formal offer has yet been made but the Gunners are assessing their attacking options with Berbatov representing proven quality at a cut price.

Wenger was thought to be reluctant to sign a striker this month but injuries to Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner have prompted a rethink.

Berbatov, who would be open to a move, is in the final six months of his contract at Craven Cottage and could be available for around £2.5million.

The Bulgarian forward who joined Fulham for £5m in August 2012, won two Premier League titles with Manchester United and the League Cup with Tottenham. The 32 year-old has scored four league goals for Fulham this season.
