Arsenal played out a goalless bore draw at home to Serbian side Red Star Belgrade which drove one spiritless fan to Sudoko.

Despite the club claiming an attendance of 58,000, the north London stadium looked significantly below capacity for the majority of the game, while a sea of red seats remained clearly visible throughout.

The match sadly didn’t capture the attention of one fan who was noticeably less than enthralled by the action on the pitch as he cracked open his newspaper to complete a Sudoko puzzle.

The supporter looked deep in concentration as he tackled the Japanese mind-sharpener while Wenger’s men put in an uninspiring performance.

Arsenal fan Piers Morgan took to Twitter to vent his frustration after the game.

He wrote: “0-0. Loud boos ring out from the few fans who were there.

“Wenger’s miserable descent into unwatchable mediocrity continues.”

But one social media responded in jest, using the Sudoko wiz as the star of the show.

The user tweeted: “I wouldn’t say that Piers, this guy seemed to enjoy that game…

“Sudoko > watching Arsenal.”

The Gunners qualified for the Europa League knockout despite being held to a draw by the Serbian side.

The Premier League club top Group H with 10 points from four games and Cologne’s 5-2 win over BATE Borisov in the group’s other game means Wenger's side progress.

While Arsenal are travelling to success in the Europa League, they face an uphill battle as they go head to head with unbeaten Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday.
