Mathieu Flamini insists Arsenal cannot use their lengthy injury list as an excuse for their indifferent start to the season.

The Gunners have won just four of 13 matches in all competitions this season and needed a stoppage-time equaliser from Danny Welbeck to secure a 2-2 draw against Hull on Saturday.

Manager Arsene Wenger is without several players, including Olivier Giroud, Mesut Ozil, Mathieu Debuchy and Laurent Koscielny, while goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is suspended for Wednesday’s Champions League match at Anderlecht.

“We’re having injuries but we don’t want to hide behind any excuses,” said Flamini. “We’re facing the truth — we didn’t win on Saturday and we’ll try to find a solution for the next games.”

Rookie keeper Emiliano Martinez is set to start in Brussels, while Jack Wilshere is expected to be available despite a knee problem.
