Theo Walcott appeared at training with Arsenal today but there were doubts over whether he will face Ludogorets Razgrad tomorrow.

Walcott missed the 4-1 win at Sunderland on Saturday with a hamstring problem.

The England international was at the London Colney training ground this morning as the squad prepared for the Champions League trip to Bulgaria.

Initially, the forward went away from the rest of the first-team squad as he was put through his paces by fitness coach Tony Colbert.

It remains to be seen whether Walcott will be risked tomorrow or is held back for the north London derby against Tottenham at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Neither Santi Cazorla, who has been out for two weeks with an Achilles injury, nor Nacho Monreal, who missed the Sunderland game with a muscular problem, trained.

In Monreal’s absence, Kieran Gibbs will continue at left‑back as Arsenal try to seal a place in the last-16 of the Champions League for the 17th consecutive year.

A win against the Bulgarian champions would all-but secure qualification to the knockout stage with two group games to spare.

Arsenal are level on points with Manchester City and Liverpool at the top of the Premier League after their win at Sunderland and Arsene Wenger says the next month will give a good indication of their title credentials.

Arsenal face Spurs and Manchester United either side of the international break and also play Bournemouth.

“We now have a difficult November so by the end of the month we will know more about ourselves,” said Wenger. “The desire is there and the mentality is great, though. There is great togetherness but we have to show that we can do it week in and week out.

“The Sunderland win shows our belief that we can bounce back from a disappointing result last week [the 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough].”

Midfielder Aaron Ramsey returned against Sunderland, having been sidelined since injuring his hamstring against Liverpool on the opening day of the season.

Wenger added: “Aaron has a tremendous drive.”
