Kieran Tierney made his Arsenal return as the Gunners prepared for the Premier League restart with a friendly victory over Charlton on Saturday.

In a behind closed doors contest in north London, Arsenal put six past the Addicks without reply as Mikel Arteta tries to get him team up to speed for when they resume their campaign against Manchester City on June 17.

Tierney had impressed in spells since joining from Celtic last summer but has been limited to just four starting appearances in the Premier League in a campaign hit by injury.

But the Scotland international was part of the side that eased to victory against Charlton, picking up some valuable minutes ahead of the season run-in.

Eddie Nketiah scored a hat-trick while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Joe Willock were also on target as Mikel Arteta's Gunners eased to a comfortable win in their first match back in three months.

Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea have also stepped up their training routines with inter-squad 11-vs-11 friendly games across the weekend.
