Arsenal make 'very nice offer' for Alexandre Lacazette, confirms Lyon president

Arsenal have made an official bid for Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette, according to the club's president Jean-Michel Aulas.

As reported by Standard Sport on Thursday, the Gunners were open to offering Olivier Giroud in part exchange for either Lacazette or Monaco star Kylian Mbappe.

Giroud is aware limited opportunities next season could jeopardise his chances at the World Cup, though is currently ahead of Lacazette in Didier Deschamps' pecking order.

Aulas has confirmed Arsenal have bid for Lacazette but does not expect the striker to leave this summer.

“Alexandre Lacazette was told he could leave,” Aulas said.

“We had negotiations with Atletico. Things did not work out. We now have a very nice offer from Arsenal. But for us he will not leave.”

Lacazette has previously claimed he would only leave Lyon for a team in the Champions League, pointing towards ruling out a move to the Emirates Stadium.
