Arsenal vs Liverpool: As it happened

End to end: Giroud and Milner battle for possession

Look back over Standard Sport's live coverage of Arsenal vs Liverpool.

The Gunners return to the Emirates looking to gain penance from their supporters after a hugely disappointing opening day at home, where disastrous defending gave visitors West Ham an emphatic 2-0 victory.

A 2-1 win at Selhurst Park helped ease the disappointment but another three points tonight would drastically lift the mood at the Emirates.

Liverpool have started the season brightly and would certainly take a third consecutive 1-0 win, as for the second away game in a row they look to avenge one of their worst results of last season.

Arsenal’s 4-1 victory in April was by some distance their most exciting of the season, with Mesut Ozil pulling the strings and Alexis Sanchez at his most incisive. Both seemed to be approaching their best last week, should they find it tonight Simon Mignolet and company will do exceptionally well to add to their two clean sheets.
