Arsenal got back to winning ways away from home as goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Alex Iwobi secured a 2-1 victory at Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
First-half goals from Iwobi and Lacazette were enough to seal all three points for Unai Emery's side, despite Sead Kolasinac's late own goal, to end a seven-game winless run on the road.
Unai Emery was hit by an injury crisis before the game with key quartet Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka all ruled out with injury.
The Gunners started in their 3-4-3 shape but got off to a sluggish start, with Huddersfield threatening on the flanks. But they soon grew into the contest and were ahead after the quarter-hour mark.
Nacho Monreal won possession down the left-hand side and floated a cross to the back post. There was Iwobi, who connected well with a first-time volley and it took a kind deflection off Terence Kongolo, wrongfooting Ben Hamer to hand the away side the lead.
The hosts should have been awarded a penalty on 25 minutes when Laurent Koscielny charged down a shot from Kongolo with his hand but Jon Moss decided against pointing to the spot.
That proved crucial as the Gunners searched for a second and with a minute before half-time, they found it.
The impressive Ainsley Maitland-Niles sent a low cross to the back post and there was Alexandre Lacazette to tap home unmarked.
Huddersfield mounted a spirited fightback in the second half and should have scored twice, with Adama Diakhaby and Erik Durm both missing good chances to pull one back.
They did get on the scoresheet late on as Kolasinac diverted in his own net but the Gunners survived to go level on points with Chelsea with a crucial three points.
