Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez among the best in the world, says Chile boss Juan Antonio Pizzi

Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has been hailed as one of the best players in the world by his national team coach Juan Antonio Pizzi.

Sanchez missed Chile's game against Colombia last week after suffering a hamstring injury, but he recovered in time to start his nation's World Cup qualifier at home to Uruguay last night - and impressed with two goals in the 3-1 win.

The forward has also enjoyed a good start to the season for Arsenal, scoring eight goals and creating five others in all competitions to help send the Gunners into fourth place in the standings.

And Chile boss Pizzi had only positive words to say about Sanchez after the victory against Uruguay, although he stressed that the win was because of great teammwork from the entire Chile side and not just because of Sanchez's individual showing.

"Individuals speak for themselves," Pizzi said. "Alexis is among the best players in the world.

"[But] I am more in favour of emphasising the strengths of the group. And it is what allowed us to turn the game."

He added: "We value individuality, but I think today the great merit of reversing the outcome is based solely on the collective.

"Everyone understands how to solve things by doing it together. Sometimes a few stand out as Claudio, Eduardo, Alexis..."
