Francis Coquelin is only expected to be sidelined for three weeks after suffering an injury in the victory over Chelsea on Saturday.

The midfielder was on the the receiving end of a strong tackle by N’Golo Kante during the first half at Emirates Stadium but tried to continue, playing on for a short while before limping off in the 32nd minute.

Wenger confirmed after game the injury was in the same region of Coquelin's knee as the knock he picked up in a draw with West Brom last season, which ruled him out for 11 weeks.

But after undergoing scans, Coquelin's lastest setback is not as bad as first feared.

"Coquelin is out for tomorrow but the scan was good - he should be three weeks out," said Wenger ahead of Arsenal's Champions League clash with FC Basel on Wednesday.
